Our Ability’s President and CEO, John Robinson (@OurAbility_CEO) is dedicated to connecting individuals with disabilities towards education and employment through mentoring, workshops, public speaking as well as job placement. Our Ability is the only disability-owned and operated business dedicated to building employment opportunities through our job platforms, employment webinars, digital profile system and personal empowerment.

The job placement portal Jobs Ability, is making the complex simple by offering an AI-driven platform where candidates with disabilities can enter their skills and experience, and then receive endorsements and references that reinforce their value to future employers. Our Ability is a certified disability-owned and run business that creates game-changing strategies for enabling full inclusion of people with disabilities.

• In 2019, John Robinson was named and served on Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Reimagine the Erie Canal Commission
• In 2018, John Robinson presented with the Chamber Champion Award in recognition of actions that have advanced the mission of the Capital Region Chamber
• In 2014, named one of ten national White House Champions of Change for Disability Employment by the Obama Administration.

John Robinson is the subject of “Get Off Your Knees: The John Robinson Story” a public television documentary seen around the United States and other countries. Autobiography of the same title was published by Syracuse University Press in 2009.

Vice President | Our Ability

Doug Hamlin is an experienced executive with over thirty years directing development of software products and building sales, training and support organizations to achieve profitable success. He was a member of the founding group of VersaTrans Solutions Incorporated in 1983. After serving many roles throughout the company, including President and CEO from 2000 until 2008, he guided the company through its acquisition by Tyler Technologies where he served as Division President until 2010.

He is active in both the Onondaga and Albany County communities. As a member of the Board of Directors at Albany Medical Center since 2000, Mr. Hamlin currently serves as Vice Chair of the Hospital Board of Governors. He is also president of the Board of Trustees of the Skaneateles Historical Society and Museum.

From 2013 to 2018, Mr. Hamlin led the planning and participated in the “Journey Along the Erie Canal”, a 360-mile adaptive bicycle ride from Buffalo to Albany on the Canalway Trail highlighting the abilities within everyone. This has led to a passionate interest in the history, engineering and economic impact of the Canal’s past, present and future.

Sanya is a Product Enthusiast who likes to build products which solve user problems and actually make a difference to the society. She has led products successfully at various Organizations including Multinational companies and startups in India.

Motivating others to bring a change in the world through Technology and creative thinking. A visionary with analytical skills and strategic mindset. Likes to write inspirational quotes and introspecting spiritually once a while. Often found Reading good books about Technology, Leadership, Human Psychology and Philosophies of life

Program Coordinator | Our Ability

Siobhan graduated from Siena College with a degree in Marketing & Management. Prior to working at Our Ability, she worked as an educational aide at the elementary level. She earned her NYS Teaching Assistant Certification.

Siobhan assists individuals with accessing and creating candidate profiles in the Jobs Ability portal. She works with Transition Coordinators at the secondary and post-secondary levels to provide webinars demonstrating the Jobs Ability portal.

Advisor | Syracuse

Art is the Associate Dean for Career Services and Experiential Learning at the iSchool, overseeing the team responsible for preparation of all students for careers in the information sciences, including exploration of career possibilities, corporate and employer relations, engagement in experiential learning, professional certifications/badging and coaching for business and career success.

Since 2012, Art has also been Director of the iConsult Collaborative at Syracuse University, an experiential learning program where university students are engaged with client organizations in a diverse portfolio of information-related projects.  A specialist in public-private projects, Art helped to bring about the Syracuse Digital Innovation Alliance in 2019, a unique collaboration among Microsoft, Syracuse City, Onondaga County and the iSchool, organized to accelerate the implementation of Smart City, and Smart Campus, technologies in Central New York.

Art is the overall Faculty Lead for the Project Management Curriculum at the iSchool and has assisted in the editing of the course textbook by Kathy Schwalbe used in the foundation PM courses.  In addition, he has participated for several years in the Project Management Institute Global Task Force on Project Management Curricula. He has written numerous portions of the Guidelines for Undergraduate Project Management Curricula and Resources, published in 2015 and 2017 by the Project Management Institute, which can be downloaded by faculty.

Chief Software Engineer | Zammo

Guy Tonye is the Chief Software Engineer at Zammo. Based in Toronto, he brings over 10 years in software development. During his extensive experience in building custom voice applications, he knew that there had to be a more efficient way to get businesses on voice. Guy also co-founded the Toronto Voice Meetup, currently with over 2,000 members.
